Why it matters for your company
Hull pays to repair or replace the aircraft after a crash, a fall, theft or damage in transit. It is usually written alongside aviation liability, with each aircraft listed and valued.
Some forms separate in-flight and ground risk, and some cover the payload only when it is scheduled. For a drone company flying expensive sensors on inexpensive airframes, the payload schedule is often the larger number on the policy.
