What it does
Removes bodily injury, property damage and personal and advertising injury arising out of generative artificial intelligence from the general liability coverage part. Generative AI is defined as a machine-based learning system or model that is trained on data with the ability to create content or responses, including text, images, audio, video or code. For a robotics or AI company, this endorsement on a general liability policy removes the claim where content or a response from a model is the cause of the harm; it does not name autonomous machines as such, and whether a robot running a model falls inside the definition is a question the wording leaves to the claim.
Where it applies
Multistate advisory filing; adoption is optional per insurer. By July 2026 more than 60 property and casualty groups had filed on the ISO AI exclusions, 41 to adopt and 20 to delay, and more than 80 percent of those filings had been approved (Gen Re, 2026-08-26).
